"description": "EMPATECT® 10 mg film-coated tablets\nEMPATECT® 25 mg film-coated tablets \nEMPATECT M -12.5mg/500mg tablets\nempagliflozin / Metrformin\n\n\nWhat Empatect is and what it is used for\nWhat Empatect is\nEmpatect contains the active substance empagliflozin.\nEmpatect is a member of a group of medicines called sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2)\ninhibitors.\nWhat Empatect is used for\nType 2 diabetes mellitus\nEmpatect is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults and children aged 10 years and older that\ncannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.\n•Empatect can be used without other medicines in patients who cannot take metformin (another\ndiabetes medicine).\n•Empatect can also be used with other medicines for the treatment of diabetes. These may be\nmedicines taken by mouth or given by injection such as insulin.\nEmpatect works by blocking the SGLT2 protein in your kidneys. This causes blood sugar (glucose) to\nbe removed in your urine. There by Empatect lowers the amount of sugar in your blood.\nThis medicine can also help prevent heart disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.\nIt is important that you continue with your diet and exercise plan as told by your doctor, pharmacist or\nnurse.\nHeart failure\n•Empatect is used to treat heart failure in adult patients with symptoms due to impaired heart\nfunction.\nChronic kidney disease\n•Empatect is used to treat chronic kidney disease in adult patients.\nWhat is type 2 diabetes?\nType 2 diabetes is a disease that comes from both your genes and your lifestyle. If you have type 2\ndiabetes, your pancreas does not make enough insulin to control the level of glucose in your blood,\nand your body is unable to use its own insulin effectively. This results in high levels of glucose in your\nblood which can lead to medical problems like heart disease, kidney disease, blindness, and poor\ncirculation in your limbs.\nWhat is heart failure?\nHeart failure occurs when the heart is too weak or stiff and cannot work properly. This can lead to\nserious medical problems and need for hospital care. The most common symptoms of heart failure are\nfeeling breathless, feeling tired or very tired all the time, and ankle swelling.\nEmpatect helps protect your heart from getting weaker and improves your symptoms.\nWhat is chronic kidney disease?\nChronic kidney disease is a long-term condition. It might be caused by other diseases such as diabetes\nand high blood pressure or even by your own immune system attacking the kidneys. When you have\nchronic kidney disease, your kidneys may gradually lose their ability to clean and filter the blood\nproperly. This can lead to serious medical problems such as swollen legs, heart failure or need for\nhospital care.\nEmpatect helps protect your kidneys from losing their function.\n2. What you need to know before you take Empatect\nDo not take Empatect\n• if you are allergic to empagliflozin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in\nsection 6).\nWarnings and precautions\nContact a doctor or the nearest hospital straight away:\nKetoacidosis\n• if you experience rapid weight loss, feeling sick or being sick, stomach pain, excessive thirst,\nfast and deep breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell to your breath,\na sweet or metallic taste in your mouth, or a different odour to your urine or sweat, contact a\ndoctor or the nearest hospital straight away. These symptoms could be a sign of “ketoacidosis”\n– a serious, sometimes life-threatening problem you can get because of increased levels of\n“ketone bodies” in your urine or blood, seen in tests. The risk of developing ketoacidosis may\nbe increased with prolonged fasting, excessive alcohol consumption, dehydration, sudden\nreductions in insulin dose, or a higher need of insulin due to major surgery or serious illness.\nIf you suspect you have ketoacidosis, contact a doctor or the nearest hospital straight away and stop\ntaking this medicine until further advice from your doctor.\nTalk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine, and during treatment:\n• if you have “type 1 diabetes”. This type usually starts when you are young and your body does\nnot produce any insulin. You should not take Empatect if you have type 1 diabetes.\n• if you have serious kidney problems – your doctor may limit your dose to 10 mg once a day or\nask you to take a different medicine (see also section 3, ‘How to take Empatect’).\n• if you have serious liver problems – your doctor may ask you to take a different medicine.\n• might be at risk of dehydration, for example:\no if you are being sick, have diarrhoea or fever, or if you are not able to eat or drink\no if you are taking medicines that increase urine production [diuretics] or lower blood\npressure\no if you are 75 years old or older.\nPossible side effects\nLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\nContact a doctor or the nearest hospital straight away if you have any of the following side\neffects:\nSevere a",

"name": "PANTECT INJECTION",
"description": "RODUCT INTRODUCTION\nPANTECT 40mg Injection is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is used for treating acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It provides relief from symptoms and promotes healing.\n\nPANTECT 40mg Injection is also used to prevent stress ulcers in seriously ill patients and is administered before anesthetic medication to help prevent aspiration-related complications. It belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medicine is administered into a vein by a healthcare professional and will only be given to you if your doctor thinks that an injection is more suitable for you at the moment than a tablet. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. Your doctor will decide the duration of treatment but you should keep on taking it as prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear quickly. You can increase the efficiency of the treatment by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding caffeinated drinks (like tea and coffee), and spicy or fatty foods.\n\nThe most common side effects observed with this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, stomach pain, and thrombophlebitis (pain, redness, and swelling of the vein). These symptoms are generally mild but if they bother you or do not go away, consult your doctor. Long-term use of this medicine may lead to an increased risk of side effects. For instance, using this medicine for more than 1 year may increase your risk for bone fractures, especially with higher doses. Talk to your doctor about ways to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis), like taking calcium and vitamin D supplements.\n\nPANTECT 40mg Injection is not suitable for some people. Before taking this medicine, you need to tell your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medicines for HIV, have ever had an allergic reaction to similar medicines in the past, or suffer from bone loss (osteoporosis). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Avoid drinking alcohol as it makes your stomach produce excessive acid and can worsen your symptoms. Do not drive or use machinery or tools, if this medicine makes you feel dizzy or sleepy.\n________________________________________\nUSES OF PANTECT INJECTION\n•\tAcidity\n•\tGastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux)\n•\tPeptic ulcer disease\n•\tTreatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome\nBENEFITS OF PANTECT INJECTION\nIn Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome\nZollinger-Ellison syndrome is a rare disorder where excessive stomach acid production leads to multiple peptic ulcers. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and heartburn. PANTECT 40mg Injection By reducing the production of stomach acid, it helps alleviate symptoms such as abdominal pain, heartburn, and diarrhea. Esomeprazole also aids in the healing of peptic ulcers, which are common in this condition. By controlling the excessive acid secretion associated with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, esomeprazole helps improve the overall digestive health and prevents complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding.\n________________________________________\nSIDE EFFECTS OF PANTECT INJECTION\nMost side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. "description": "Minocycline belongs to the tetracycline class of antibiotics and is used to manage and treat both infectious and non-infectious conditions. In addition to its effectiveness against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, minocycline also exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and immunomodulatory properties. Furthermore, this medication is recognized as the most effective tetracycline derivative in terms of its ability to provide neuroprotective effects. This activity describes minocycline's mechanism of action, indications, and contraindications as a valuable agent in treating and managing bacterial infections and conditions such as acne, neurodegenerative diseases, periodontitis, and dermatitis. This activity also highlights the adverse event profile, dosing, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, monitoring, and other relevant interactions of minocycline. These are crucial considerations for healthcare professionals engaged in treating patients with the conditions mentioned above.\n\nObjectives:\n\nIdentify the diverse indications of minocycline encompassing bacterial infections, acne, neurodegenerative disorders, periodontitis, and dermatitis.\nImplement appropriate dosing strategies and treatment regimens for patients receiving minocycline therapy while considering their age, weight, and renal function factors.\nApply evidence-based guidelines and clinical protocols to optimize minocycline therapy for various conditions in specific patient populations.\nCommunicate effectively with patients about the benefits, potential risks, and expectations of minocycline therapy, ensuring informed decision-making.\nAccess free multiple choice questions on this topic.\nGo to:\nIndications\nMinocycline is a semi-synthetic second-generation tetracycline and a broad-spectrum antibiotic. This drug was synthesized in 1967 for managing and treating numerous infectious and non-infectious diseases. Furthermore, minocycline's anti-infectious potency aligns closely with that of other tetracyclines. In addition to its effectiveness against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, minocycline exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and immunomodulatory properties. This medication is also recognized as the most effective tetracycline derivative in terms of its ability to provide neuroprotective effects. This distinction arises from its high lipophilicity, enabling it to traverse the blood-brain barrier with exceptional efficacy.[1]\n\nIn general, it has been observed that an individual susceptible to tetracycline may also be susceptible to minocycline.[2] Minocycline's spectrum of coverage includes Borrelia recurrentis, Mycobacterium marinum, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio vulnificus, and susceptible strains of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus. Minocycline is also used in the treatment of rickettsial infections, chlamydial infections, syphilis, pelvic inflammatory disease, acne, nocardiosis, brucellosis, ehrlichiosis, amebiasis, actinomycosis, anaplasmosis, leptospirosis, melioidosis, tularemia, traveler's diarrhea, early-stage Lyme disease, Legionnaire disease, and Whipple disease.[3] \n\nAccording to the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) 2022 guidelines, minocycline has been recognized as an effective medication against carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia.[4]\n\nOff-Label Uses\n\nVarious off-label uses of minocycline include rosacea, bullous dermatoses, neutrophilic diseases, pyoderma gangrenosum, sarcoidosis, aortic aneurysms, cancer metastasis, periodontitis, and autoimmune disorders such as scleroderma and rheumatoid arthritis, according to the American College of Rheumatology guidelines.[5][6][7]\n\nGo to:\nMechanism of Action\nProtein synthesis occurs through ribosomes in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, facilitating the transformation of messenger RNA (mRNA) codes into functional proteins. The ribosomes in prokaryotic cells consist of the 30S and 50S subunits, whereas in eukaryotic cells, they consist of the 40S and 60S subunits. In prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, the 2 ribosomal subunits converge at the mRNA template, facilitating the transfer RNA (tRNA) to transport an amino acid and form cellular proteins by elongating amino acid chains.\n\nTetracyclines, such as minocycline, bind to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing charged tRNA from delivering amino acids to elongate the protein chain and develop a cellular protein. This disruption results in a bacteriostatic impact on the prokaryotic cell, causing the organism to lose its capability to grow or replicate.[8] \n\nTetracyclines are lipid-soluble compounds capable of transportation across hydrophobic barriers, including biological membranes. Their lipophilic nature enables rapid absorption and distribution throughout the organism. Among tetracyclines, minocycline exhibits greater lipophilicity than doxycyc",
